Dr. Biplab Pal is a Technical Advisor with more than 25 years of experience spanning telecommunications, optical networking, semiconductor and sensor systems, industrial IoT, edge AI, and connected products. He is the founder of Pal Consulting and previously served as Co-Founder and CTO of MachineSense/Prophecy and Founder and CTO of Opteev, where he led multidisciplinary teams in bringing more than a dozen hardware, software, sensing, and AI products from concept through commercialization.
Dr. Pal is an inventor on more than 25 granted U.S. patents, with additional applications pending, and has authored more than 30 technical publications. He also serves as an expert witness and technical consultant in complex matters involving fiber-optic networks, semiconductor packaging and devices, GaN and SiC power electronics, wearables, and connected systems.
He teaches and conducts research at UMBC and earned his bachelor’s, master’s, and doctoral degrees from IIT Kharagpur. His work combines deep engineering analysis with practical experience in product development, technical due diligence, patent strategy, and technology commercialization.
